Achara Beach

Beach · Malvan, Sindhudurg

A quiet beach north of Malvan near Achara village, with soft sand, casuarina trees and few crowds.

Achara is a coastal village north of Malvan, and its beach is one of the quieter ones of the Malvan taluka. A long line of sand is backed by casuarina trees, with fishing boats pulled up on the shore and very few tourist stalls.

People come here for a peaceful walk, a swim in calm weather, or a sunset away from the busier beaches of Malvan and Tarkarli. The village is also known for the old Rameshwar temple, so many visitors combine the two.

There are only a few places to eat and stay near the beach, mostly small and family-run, so it is worth asking ahead in the season.

Swim only in calm water close to the shore, and keep out of the sea in the monsoon.
