An old man-made lake surrounded by green hills between Kudal and Malvan, with the Bhagwati temple on its bank.

Dhamapur lake lies in a green valley between Kudal and Malvan. It is a man-made lake several centuries old, built to store water for the farms of the area, and it still feeds the fields around the village.

On its bank stands the temple of Goddess Bhagwati, a quiet, tree-shaded shrine that many visitors stop at. The water, the hills and the reflections of the trees make the lake one of the calmest spots of the Malvan and Kudal area, especially in the early morning.

The lake is a good place for birdwatching, a slow walk along the bank or simply a break on the way between Kudal and the coast. Facilities near the lake are limited, so carry water.

Respect the temple and the village: keep the area clean and avoid swimming in the lake.
