Kashid Beach

Beach · Alibag, Raigad

A long beach of pale sand between Alibag and Murud, backed by green hills and casuarina trees, popular for short trips from Mumbai and Pune.

Kashid lies on the coast road between Alibag and Murud. The beach is wide and gently sloping, with pale sand and a backdrop of wooded hills, which makes it one of the prettiest stretches of the Raigad coast.

On weekends it is lively, with food stalls, horse and buggy rides and water sports. On weekdays and early mornings it is much quieter. Stays range from small family-run homestays in the village to resorts along the road.

Swim only in the area local people show as safe and only when there are lifeguards or other swimmers around. Currents can be strong, especially when the tide is changing.

Best time to visit

October to May. Weekdays are quieter than weekends.

How to reach

About 30 km south of Alibag on the coast road to Murud. From the Konkan Railway, Roha is the nearest large station.
